FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does a website cost?

Because there are so many variables in designing a website, I don't have set fees or packages. My fee is determined by how complex the project is. Factors that impact this include the number of pages, the desired features, and whether you want to sell products or services through the site.

Think of it as if you walked into a car dealership and asked, “How much for a car?” The salesperson would need to learn whether you want a compact, mid-size, or SUV. They would need to know whether you want tinted windows or a backup camera, and so on.

Just like that salesperson, once I have gathered the information we need, I can then provide you with the best price possible.

All quotes are provided in writing, as well as verbally during the initial consultation.

How long does it take you to build a website?
This really depends on a number of factors, such as the number of pages, the features of the site, and whether you will be providing the content (text and images) for the site. Historically, the biggest factor in how quickly a project is completed is whether the client provides the needed content in a timely fashion and whether they are readily available to conduct the first and second reviews of the new site with me.
How much experience do you have in building websites?
I have been building websites for over 10 years. It is also important to note that this is my full-time career; it is not a hobby that I pursue in my spare time. As a result, I design and build attractive, user-friendly websites that exceed my clients' expectations and help them to be more successful.
When are your fees due?
I generally require a 50% deposit before beginning work on a project. The balance of my fees are then due once the project is completed.
Do I have to sign a contract?
In order to prevent any misunderstanding, I do provide a service agreement, which clearly states the services to be rendered and the fee for those services. Both parties e-sign this agreement and the client receives a copy of the signed agreement for their records.
What do I have to provide?
Usually, most clients provide the content (text and images) for the site. Once the service agreement is signed and the deposit paid, an email is sent which lists the items that are needed to complete the project.
This website business is new to me. How does the whole process work?

That's an excellent question!

To begin, I would conduct an initial consultation with you by phone to determine the specifics of the project and how I can best assist you. Once I have enough information to provide you with a price quote, I will do so both verbally and in writing. When you decide to hire me for the project, I will then send you two documents by separate emails: a service agreement, which details the services to be provided and states the fees for those services, and a PayPal invoice for the required 50% deposit.

Once the service agreement is signed and the deposit is paid, I then send you an email that lists the items that I need from you in order to complete the website. While you are gathering that info and sending it to me, I will begin work on the site, by creating the pages, setting up the navigation menu, and doing the major design work, so that when I receive the info from you I can quickly insert that into the appropriate pages of the website.

When I am ready to look at my work, I will schedule a first review, at a time that is convenient for you. During this review, you will be at your home or office, sitting in front of a computer and I will be at my office, sitting in front of a computer. Then, over the phone, I will review the site with you, page-by-page, and note any revisions you want made.

Depending on the number and complexity of the desired revisions, I will schedule a second review. Typically, this is done 1-2 days after the first review.

Usually, my clients are ready for me to make their new website live on the Internet after the second review. At this time, I will send you an invoice for the balance due on my fees and, once that invoice is paid, I make your new website live on the Internet. Once the website is visible to the public, I notify you accordingly.

Can you provide the content for my website?

We are experienced copywriters and have access to a number of stock photo sites, so we are able to accommodate any requests to handle this aspect of the project.
